Grants are financial aid you generally do not have to repay. Many are based on financial need, as determined by your FAFSA.

Federal Grants

Federal grants may include Pell, FSEOG, and TEACH. Pell awards are based on your Student Aid Index and enrollment. FSEOG is limited. TEACH has service requirements and may convert to a loan.

State Grants

State grants may include FSAG, FSAG for certificate programs, and the First-Generation Matching Grant. Eligibility, funding, and deadlines vary.

Scholarships are awarded based on achievement, talent, financial need, career goals, and more. Some require a separate application and have their own deadlines.

Foundation and Institutional Scholarships

The River Foundation offers scholarships through a rolling application. Apply early through the Foundation Award Portal.
