Associate in Science in Building Construction Technology

Associate Degrees

Throughout the program, you’ll cover every aspect of the construction industry—from laying a concrete foundation to adding the finishing touches. Your required courses will explore topics like:

  • City, county, state and federal contracting
  • Construction bidding
  • Construction management
  • Building materials
  • Construction methods
  • Codes and regulations
  • Plumbing and electrical systems
  • Plans interpretation
  • Estimating
  • Scheduling methods
  • Construction office practices
  • Site supervision

You can also customize your program by choosing electives that match your interests. Options may include:

  • Zero Energy Building Design and Construction
  • Sustainable Building Systems
  • Residential Energy Fundamentals

What You Can Do With an A.S. in Building Construction:

After completing the program, you can pursue home builder and general contractor roles, as well as positions on the business side of things, such as estimator, inspector, or project manager. With experience, you could move into leadership positions such as site supervisor or construction planner.
